A Saltwater Prayer is contemporary coastal artwork capturing a solitary woman in the shallows, caught in the instant she shakes saltwater from her hair. For the artist, the scene evokes Nature’s Valley Beach on South Africa’s Garden Route and recalls a fleeting moment during a road trip with friends—the kind of memory that becomes more luminous with time. Beneath an immense sky of peach-lit clouds, the simple gesture becomes something elemental: a private ritual of freedom, renewal and return to the sea.

Created through photography and mixed-media composition, this large South African wall artwork has a cinematic, painterly quality. Coral light dissolves into pale turquoise water and mirrored sand, holding the figure somewhere between movement and stillness, memory and dream. Its luminous coastal palette and emotive presence make it a striking statement piece for a living room, bedroom, entrance hall or hospitality interior.

The artwork is printed on premium canvas and custom framed to order in Cape Town. It is available in a Natural Obeche or Kiaat-stained Obeche floating frame.
