What size are the artworks?
Our current collection is primarily available in A0, a large statement size. The A0 measurement refers to the canvas itself, before framing.
A0 canvas dimensions:
- Portrait / Vertical: 84.1 cm wide × 118.9 cm high
- Landscape / Horizontal: 118.9 cm wide × 84.1 cm high
Once presented in its floating frame, the complete artwork measures approximately:
- Portrait / Vertical: 86.5 cm wide × 121.3 cm high
- Landscape / Horizontal: 121.3 cm wide × 86.5 cm high
The finished frame has an overall depth of 5 cm.
Selected artworks are also available in a 60 × 60 cm square canvas format, with an approximate finished framed size of 62.4 × 62.4 cm.
As every frame is individually made, finished dimensions may vary very slightly. Additional artwork sizes may be introduced in the future.
Are the artworks framed?
Yes. Each canvas artwork is presented in a deep Obeche wood floating frame with a slim 7 mm visible face, a 50 mm depth and a 5 mm shadow gap between the canvas and frame.
Choose between Natural Obeche Wood, and Dark-Stained Obeche Wood, finished with a rich Kiaat-coloured stain.
Are the artworks made to order?
Yes. Each artwork is individually produced and framed especially for you once your order has been placed.
How are the artworks created?
Republic of Venus artworks are created by South African artist and photographer Romy Maxime, using a combination of photography, mixed-media techniques and contemporary creative tools. Each piece is developed as an original artistic composition before being produced as a premium fine-art canvas print.
Do you offer custom artworks or sizes?
Yes. We welcome custom requests, including custom sizes, bespoke artworks and commissioned series for private and commercial spaces. If you have something particular in mind, please get in touch at studio@republicofvenus.co.za and tell us about your project.
Will the colours look exactly the same as they do on my screen?
We take great care to represent our artworks as accurately as possible. However, colours may vary slightly depending on your screen settings and the natural characteristics of the canvas printing process.
How long will my order take?
Each Republic of Venus artwork is individually made to order.
Please allow approximately 5–7 working days for printing and framing. Delivery times vary depending on the destination and courier service.
You will receive tracking information once your artwork has been dispatched. Please note that production and delivery time-frames are estimates and may vary during particularly busy periods or for custom orders.
Do you accept returns?
Because our artworks are made to order, we generally cannot accept returns or exchanges for change of mind. If your artwork arrives damaged, defective or incorrect, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can assist you.
Do you work with interior designers, hotels and other commercial projects?
